ATNS: Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements Project
The Agreements, Treaties and Negotiated Settlements (ATNS) project “is an ARC Linkage project examining treaty and agreement-making with Indigenous Australians and the nature of the cultural, social and legal rights encompassed by past, present and potential agreements and treaties.” I worked on this project in a variety of roles, from a simple site redesign through to consulting on a massive database system migration. I also learned a lot about the various different legal instruments used in Australia to negotiate with Traditional Owners, something I’m deeply interested in given my Ngai Tahu heritage, my work with the Ngai Tahu Development Corporation in making resources about our own Treaty settlements, and my background in studying law before I jumped ship to the creative world.
